The King
Explanation
The king is the most important piece in chess. The goal of the game is to checkmate the opponent's king. If the king is in check, it must move out of check immediately.
Value
The king has no point value, as its capture ends the game.
Moves
- The king can move one square in any direction (horizontally, vertically, or diagonally).
- The king cannot move to a square that is under attack by an opponent's piece.
- There is a special move called castling, which involves the king and a rook.
