The bishop moves diagonally and is a long-range piece. Each player starts with two bishops, one on a light square and one on a dark square.

Value

A bishop is worth 3 points.

• The bishop can move any number of squares diagonally.
• A bishop always stays on the same color square it started on.
• The bishop cannot jump over other pieces.
